Rachel's Painting

Artist Rachel Walpole - "Hey! I usually post drawings but I wanted to post a painting this time. I finished this today, and it was a concept painting for a flying whale in our game we're making in my university. I tried to influence the painting style from RHADs, I really love his clouds and I find his lighting and colours incredibly inspiring! Could I have feedback on my own painting? What could I do to improve it? I posted the original concept sheet for the designs too so you can see the design better!" #art #digitalart #artist #freelancetalents #design #freelance_talents

Art Tutorial (Normand Lemay) #freelance_talents

I use this a lot when storyboarding a first pass of a sequence. Placing hands in the right, most appealing position can be tricky. In order to create a clear silhouette for the hands, I often draw them “floating in the air”. Then, using my general knowledge of anatomy, I just “fill in the arms”. This way I can create a much more expressive and clear pose than if I was just radiating out of the torso. That’s when structure and anatomy can get in the way of a clear message. And hands carry a lot of meaning, so I want to make them as clear as possible for my audience to see them.

I would say the same applies to life drawing. Since they often don’t carry the body weight (legs most often do), I feel like i can take the freedom of changing their position slightly to make a better visual statement. ‪#‎art‬‪#‎tutorial‬ ‪#‎freelance_talents‬

The Road to 10,000 Hours by Volen CK

Volen CK - "Hey everybody. Back in 2013 I decided to teach myself to paint and draw. Since then I've been working each and every day. My progress has been slow, but it has been consistent. In this vid I want to share some of my progress, major lessons about learning in general and how you will change as your art develops. You can skip up to 15 minutes in to just see some of the work I've done over the years. I hope this helps give you some perspective and inspires you to keep working."‪#‎freelance_talents‬
