Artist Kishore Ghosh, Art Supervisor at YSECIT Softwares India Pvt. Ltd., continues to remind us that creativity often shines brightest in its rawest form. His recent update features a series of sketches and paintings drawn straight from his notebook, built with nothing more than pen, brush, and watercolor.
What makes these works special is their simplicity and spontaneity. Each line, each stroke carries an immediacy that studio-polished pieces sometimes miss. They capture fleeting ideas, emotions, and everyday observations, translated onto paper with effortless honesty.
For anyone who loves art, Kishore’s sketches are a gentle nudge, that even in the age of digital perfection, the charm of handmade sketches remains unmatched.
Blankets is a graphic novel by Craig Thompson, spanning 624 pages in black and white. Set in the United States, this love story has garnered several international awards in the graphic novel and comics industry.
The narrative, set against the backdrop of a snowy Midwestern winter, follows two brothers growing up in rural isolation and the blossoming romance between two young lovers. It explores themes of security and discovery, playfulness and tragedy, a fall from grace, and the origins of faith. Blankets is a profound and breathtakingly beautiful work.
Guy Delisle's Burma Chronicles is an exceptionally insightful graphic novel about contemporary Burma/Myanmar. This 272-page black-and-white comic explores a country known for using concealment and isolation as tools of social control. In Burma, scissor-wielding censors monitor the media, the de facto opposition leader has been under house arrest for years, insurgent-controlled areas are cut off from the outside world, and rumors serve as the most reliable source of information. Delisle is at his most compelling and endearing in this work.
